Factions
Factions are Season 3's team competition. Before minting a planet, each player must select one faction to join for the season.
At season end, faction members receive SOL rewards based on their faction's placement. Each awarded faction pool is divided evenly among all members of that faction.
Faction points are calculated from the top 100 planets in each faction and update hourly during the season. Multiple planets owned by the same player each contribute separately.

Bastion
Descended from the first planetary strip-miners who survived early colony collapses. When everything else failed - energy grids, trade routes, alliances - metal remained. They built fortresses, then supply chains, then entire planetary monopolies.
Aether
Aether originated from failed terraforming projects where volatile gas clouds made planets uninhabitable. Instead of fighting it, they adapted, living in mobile habitats and harvesting gas currents across systems.
They learned that nothing stays stable, so the only winning move is to never be fixed.
Covenant
Crystal formations began showing strange properties: storing not just energy, but information. Over time, a group formed around studying them, claiming they could "hear" market movements before they happened.
Season Rewards
Faction rewards are paid from the overall total treasury prize pool for the season.
